Computers
Windows and supported applications
Users sign in to their own accounts with their cards.
Machines
The machine program determines how the PLC uses the permission.
Doors
Area access based on assigned permissions.
: authentication on the workstation
One computer with a reader works without an Auth server. The card is valid on the computer where was issued.
Preparing the first workstation
We check the sign-in method, the accounts in use and card and reader compatibility. For existing cards, their configuration and the availability of the required keys also matter.
The software and access for the selected employees are then prepared. Before rolling out further, you can try routine sign-in and the procedure for a lost card.
A standalone computer
The Local variant authenticates cards and stores protected credentials directly on the computer. It has its own records of people and cards, managed on that computer.
Authenticating an issued card does not itself require a company server or the internet. The availability of the Windows account and business applications still depends on their own configuration.
Central management for the whole company
In the Auth variant, a shared server on your company network authenticates cards. People, cards and access are managed centrally. An administrator must approve new computers first.
Routine authentication with an issued card does not need the internet, but the computer must be able to reach the company server. If the server is unavailable, it does not automatically switch to Local. Standard password sign-in depends on the rules and availability of the Windows account.
Day-to-day card and access management
Use the management interface to issue and block cards, adjust permissions and look up recorded events.
Change an account password using the usual Windows procedure. If ChipLogin has an old password stored, the asks for the current one and updates the stored credential after a successful sign-in. Resetting a forgotten account password is a separate action.
Technical support
We help with setup and troubleshooting. For remote assistance, start the support tool and give the technician the session number and password.
You can see the connected technician and the actions they perform. You can end the session and save its log.
